Base: Flawless Foundation
Mastering dermal architecture, pH balancing, and the physics of base coverage.
The Principles of Complexion Engineering
A flawless base is not achieved through accumulation of product, but rather the strategic neutralization of undertones and the optimization of skin texture prior to pigment application.
Surface Preparation
Cleanse the lipid barrier and restore dermal hydration. Use a targeted humectant serum followed by an occlusive moisturizer to seal in water molecules, creating a plump, uniform micro-texture.
Chromatic Correction
Employ color theory to neutralize unwanted hyperpigmentation. Utilize opposing hues on the color wheel: a peach/orange corrector negates deep blue/purple under-eye shadows, while a mint corrector neutralizes localized erythema (redness).
Foundation Mapping
Dispense the fluid medium onto a palette. Beginning at the center of the face where discoloration is typically highest, systematically diffuse the product outward. Utilize a damp sponge to bounce (stipple) the product, ensuring seamless dermal integration without streaking.
Structural Fixation
To finalize the architecture, apply a finely milled translucent setting powder exclusively to zones prone to excessive sebum production. Press, rather than sweep, the powder into the skin to lock the liquid matrix firmly into place.
